I finally sat down to finish this one! The past few weeks have been extremely busy for me, and lots of backlogs have been piling up here and there! Now that I'm done with the edits, here is the next installment of my ToyCon Day One coverage!
Random Trips Special - ToyCon 2011! (Day One, Part I)
Almost a month since the convention, the second part of my coverage of ToyCon 2011 Day One is finally up for viewing! In this installment, I take flight and suit up to cosplay as the Caped Crusader himself, Batman! Touring the entire convention grounds, I meet up with other friends and ran into fellow cosplayers dressed as The Joker, Harley Quinn, and several other heroes and characters from various pop culture works!
Later on, I even got the chance to duke it off in a Super Street Fighter IV tournament hosted by the people of Back2Gaming and GameOps, and the end result of that is depicted right here in this video! Out of the blue, I suddenly decided to open my sketchbook and do a drawing last night, and as a result I ended opening a new DeviantArt account to post it and share it with the world. Well, here it is below in all its shady pencilled glory:
Voila! My sketch of “Batman Inc.” Batman! My first drawing in a LOOOONNNGGGG time, and man was it a surprise for me to find myself doing pencils again! I'll be posting drawings here from time to time, or you could visit my DeviantArt for updates. Alternatively, you could also check out my other new account over at Tumblr dedicated to my doodles and works. It won't be on a regular basis, but it's sure feels good to be doing things like this again.;)

On the weekend of June 18 and 19, history was made in the Philippines as Hobbyists and Cosplayers alike flocked into SM Megamall and attended the two day 10th Philippine Toys, Hobbies, and Collectibles Convention! For ten long years, this con has been running annually to provide fans and collectors the chance to buy, sell, interact, and live out their cosplay fantasies in a convention specifically made for them... And for the first time, three Mega Trade Halls were used to host the entire event!
I attended both days, and let me just say outright that I had the most intense and grueling experience experience this year out of all the ToyCons I've attended since 2002! Besides looking around at booths, checking out deals, and meeting the usual friendly faces I know in my hobby circle, it was also the first ToyCon where I actually got to cosplay in, and that in itself is an achievement already. I'll get more into detail about that experience in succeeding posts. Right now, this is just the first part of my belated coverage, so bear with me as I'll lay things out per blog installment.
Below is the first part in a series of videos that will show you just what happened during that weekend when I first walked in to partake in the festivities, and covering the first Day of the con was no walk at the park either!
